Collectors can begin ordering the 2012 America the Beautiful Quarters Proof Set on Tuesday, January 17, at 12:00 PM (noon) ET for $14.95 from the United States Mint.
So far, the price has stayed the same for each year the America the Beautiful Quarters Proof Set has been offered, beginning with the 2010-dated coins. The premium for the quarters proof set covers the cost for the protective packaging and the special finish on the clad coins. They were struck at the U.S. Mint facility in San Francisco in proof quality, so each has the frosted, high-relief design against a shiny mirror-like surface.(…)
