Debut Sales for 2012 Quarters Silver Proof Set and Vicksburg Coin Products
The first two product releases of 2012 debuted on the United States Mint sales chart this week. The 2012 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof Set took the top spot, and the Vicksburg Five Ounce Silver Uncirculated Coin followed.
Opening sales for the 2012 Quarters Silver Proof Set hit 61,181 during the first week, which was not a bad start considering the program is in its third year. 2010 was the inaugural year and over 75,000 silver sets sold in the first three days, while more than 78,000 of last year’s sets sold during its initial reporting period. Oddly, the US Mint did not provide the starting figure for last year’s release until after it had been on the market for 28 days.(…)
