US Mint Sales: Proof Silver Eagle Best Seller, Yosemite 5 oz. Coin Update
In general, United States Mint sales slowed in the latest round of weekly figures. The 2011 Proof Silver Eagle coins remained the best seller while the Ulysses S. Grant Presidential $1 Coin & First Spouse Medal Set debuted. The Grand Canyon 5 oz. Silver Uncirculated Coin was still available, and the US Mint updated the Yosemite 5 oz. coin status to "not sold out," plus no waiting list or household limit.
Collectors picked up 40,368 of the 2011 American Proof Silver Eagle Coins during the first full week of availability after purchasing 367,623 in the first four days. This recent surge pushed the total to 407,991 or 47% of last year’s mintage of 860,000.(…)
